We've got a big time issue with herbicide resistance to Round-Up. 

SAY NO TO GMOS!   Round-up uses Glyphosate.  Glyphosate is an herbicide that can immobilize certain essential nutrients within plants.  Most are very specific to certain nutrients.  (Copper, Zinc, Iron for example).  Glyphosate is unique because it can influence more than one nutrient.  These micronutrients are critical for enzyme function (ie. plant and animal life functions).  If you an immobilize these nutrients Glyphosate will kill both weeds and organisms.  THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. These nutrients are required by all living things.  Soil can become barren or lifeless if this herbicide is applied. 

In the "round-up" ready plant, one that is genetically modified to withstand Glyphosate, it can survive but it doesn't have the same nutrition.  Nutritional efficiency is reduced when it is genetically modified.  Then when you apply the chemical this is compounded.  Tiny amounts of the chemical reduce the uptake of Iron by 50% and other nutrients 80% respectively. 

Genetically Modified Food IS NOT FOOD. Such modified plants are shown to effect the body adversely such as decreasing fertility.

Once applied, the 'roundup ready' plant absorbs the pesticide.  The pesticide is still IN the plant itself.  You cannot get rid of it.  It is not just on the surface.  You can't wash it off or cut it off.  It is left in the soil and kills many of the beneficial insects and soil microbes.  You WILL KILL the SOIL if you apply this herbicide. 

I can't state in strong enough words how important it is NOT to let this happen.  WE MUST PROTECT our SOIL.  WE MUST PROTECT our SELVES and our CHILDREN and their CHILDREN and the CHILDREN for all the years, decades, and centuries to come.
